I hope you all had a great time with this year's Yarn Crawl; we enjoyed seeing everyone!     In the previous email I stated that the new Knit-Along Project would begin Sunday, Apr 5,   forgetting that it is Easter,   so we WILL NOT start that day, but the following Sunday, Apr 12, instead!   And remeber, you can begin this project anytime over the next few weeks.        

New Knit-Along Project! It's a cute, multi-colored T-top using cool cotton or cotton blend yarn, and a variety of EASY lace and color work patterns; I'm making a new one using our new Sunseeker Shade and it's working up VERY QUICKLY!   Sundays, $5, next meeting is Apr 12

Crocodile Stitch Booties/Slippers   $35 Learn this very interesting and basically easy stitch with the expert help of Maria Vazquez and make some adorable booties, or slippers for yourself; these make great gifts! Meets Sundays, April 19-26, 1:00-3:00 Skill level: must know basic crochet stitches 

“Arm” Knitting  $15 Yes, your arms are you “needles”!  This is a fun (and fast) way to make a very cute accessory cowl; you may have seen this on Youtube, but if you want some personal attention, this class is for you! Meets Sunday, April 12, 1:00-3:00      

Hadley’s Classes  
Seamless Sweater Knitting for Adults or Children  $50 This is a great next step after doing scarves and afghans; and now is a great time to start! Make a sweater for colder weather or even a light weight summer choice.  Choice of patterns, materials must be purchased from Stitches In Time Yarn.  Topics taught in class: basic top-down construction, gauge flat vs. in-the-round, simple finishing   Skill level: beginner and beyond Meets Wednesdays, April 15, April 29, May 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.    

Stephen West’s Two-Color Daybreak Shawl  $50 This is a great accessory for spring (or really, anytime!) With ingenious construction techniques and endless color possibilities, the only limit is your imagination! Topics taught in class: garter-tab shawl cast on, stylistic increases, carrying yarn, stretchy bind off, basic blocking Students are responsible for purchasing pattern prior to first class session. In this simple one-hour workshop Hadley helps demystify yarn selection for you, by discussing different types of fibers and how they can best work for you. Bring questions and even yarn from your stash (within reason) and together we can discuss its properties. After making a cardigan for a “little one”,

 $5 -- Please RSVP so we can plan refreshments! 
  • Bring your unloved scraps and leftover yarn. This is a great time to clear out and refresh your stash by trading with other customers. We’ll be cleaning out our stash too so there will be plenty of treasures to trade and collect. 
  • We’ll be showcasing a variety of new projects and patterns that use leftover bits of yarn so even if scraps don’t excite you, this is an amazing opportunity to get some inspiration and let your creativity flow. 
  • Stitches in Time Yarn is offering a 20% discount on any supplemental project yarn purchased during the party.

Santa’s Workshop -- Mondays in December 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
$20/per session or $50 for all 3 workshops
    The elves at Stitches in Time Yarn will be busy this December getting ready for the holidays. We’ll be hosting a series of quick-and-easy gift workshops each Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (come by at 5:30 p.m. if you need to pick out yarn). Each project can be completed easily within the week making this a great opportunity to deck your tree with handmade goodness. Reserve your spot ASAP!
 
December 1: Beaded Ornament

    Once all the hustle and bustle of the holidays is winding down it’s time to use up all those leftover yarn scraps on some selfish knitting.     So mark your calendars for the January 5Scrap Swap Party and start setting aside your unloved leftovers -- the new year is all about creativity and YOU!
 
Design Your Own Colorwork Cowl -- Wed. 1/7, 1/21, and 2/4 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. --$45
    Kickoff your selfish knitting with a beautiful colorwork cowl personalized to you. This cowl can be knit with all your worsted weight leftovers on US7, US8, or US9 16” circular or DPNs (depending on your own gauge!). Skills taught: 2-stranded knitting, knitting in the round, reading charts, introduction to design.
 
 
Scrap Monsters -- Wednesday 1/14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. -- $20
    These little cuties knit up very quickly and are a great stashbuster for small scraps. Expand your repertoire with some stuffed toy knitting; these are a perfect little treat to have on hand for grandkid visits. Students should be comfortable with basic knitting stitches before taking the class. Bring US7 circulars or DPNs for your worsted weight scraps or US2 circulars/DPNs for your lighter weight scraps. Skills taught: knitting in the round, shaping with increases and decreases, basic toy finishing.
 
Linen Stitch Scrap Scarf -- Wednesday 1/28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. -- $20
    Another great stashbuster project, this scarf is limited only by your imagination. Bring a US7 long circular needle for your lighter-weight scraps or a US9 long circular for your worsted weight scraps. Skills taught: long-tail cast on, linen stitch, personalizing for gauge, making tassels. 
 
 
Scrap Crochet Mondays -- Mon. 1/12, 1/19, 1/26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    Expand your crochet experience with Candy’s expert instruction. She will be giving pattern support for a variety of crochet projects varying from bohemian scrap hats, beautiful crochet tote bags, and granny square afghans. Topics available: no-experience basics, make your own yarn start to finish, long draw, worsted vs. woolen spinning, traditional vs. navajo plying, fiber prep and color blending, adding glitz and beads to create art yarn.
